NZ cat survives crossbow shooting

A NEW Zealand cat has survived being shot through the skull with a crossbow.
The New Zealand pet cat has had an "extraordinarily lucky" escape from death after he was shot in the head by a crossbow.
The crossbow bolt went straight through Moo Moo's skull, entering just above his eye but missing all brain tissue.
The four-year-old local of Wainuiomata, a town near Wellington in the North Island, underwent surgery on Tuesday to remove the bolt and is now on the road the recovery.
Massey Veterinary Teaching Hospital says Moo Moo shouldn't suffer any long term effects and is "bright and happy" following surgery.
"There was a little bit of injury to his nose and eye socket, but he's an extraordinarily lucky cat," vet surgeon Dr Jonathan Bray said.
"The velocity of the bolt hitting him would have been quite frightening, so he's very brave."
Moo Moo's owner, Donna Ferrari, noticed what she thought was an arrow through his head on Monday afternoon.
The scared cat was hiding in bushes and wouldn't come out, but eventually Ms Ferrari was able to pick him up and take him to the local vet.
"They said they've never seen anything like it," Ms Ferrari said.
The vet called Massey Teaching Hospital and Moo Moo was sent there for treatment.
"I'm sick to my stomach," Ms Ferrari said.
"Hopefully the person responsible is caught or feels so much hatred from the community that they never do anything like it again."

Please read, for your pets' health!

You need to read this, and tell your friends and family. I received this from a friend. It's best that the world knows- please, read this!

As reported by Fox News...

The Food and Drug Administration issued an alert to consumers about the illnesses and deaths tied to jerky treats from China. According to officials, the exact cause of death remains unknown. Health officials are warning dog owners to be cautious about feeding their dogs jerky treats as they continue to investigate these illnesses. Nearly 600 dogs are dead, and more than 3,000 are sick.

“This is one of the most elusive and mysterious outbreaks we’ve encountered,” Bernadette Dunham, director of the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine, said in a statement. “Our beloved four-legged companions deserve our best effort, and we are giving it.”

Reports from pet owners and vets regarding jerky treat-related illnesses date back to 2007 and have affected 3,600 dogs and 10 cats in the U.S.A. Approximately 580 of those pets have perished, according to a news release.

Officials say the number of reports may have declined because fewer jerky treats were available to consumers. Following reports of tainted treats, a number of pet jerky treats were pulled from the market earlier this year.

How Do I Know If My Pet Is Sick?

Symptoms observed within hours of eating the treats include:

  • Decreased appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Decreased activity
  • Increased water consumption
  • Increased urination

If your pet has any of these symptoms, please contact your vet ASAP!

Severe cases have involved kidney failure and gastrointestinal bleeding, the FDA said.

“Our fervent hope as animal lovers is that we will soon find the cause of—and put a stop to—these illnesses,” Dunham said.

Dog leashes- from coco

There are many types of dog leashes, simple plain ones, ones with soft stuff on the handle, and more. but I found a new cool one the other day and I works well! it is a 'shock absorbing' dog leash with elastic- made by ezydog. It's really cool! The one we got is from a friend, so it's old, but it still works! it's got a cool handle and works well!

Follow this link- http://www.ezydog.com/ To go to the ezydog website.
The picture below is sort of what ours looks like. But ours is way older and worn.
